AROYH'S SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES

Overall our standard system can be equated with Code 4 of the Codes for Sustainable Homes (CSH). The Government now requires all new homes have a CSH rating.

The CSH has six levels, with levels 1 to 3 being basic; and level 3 equating to current UK building regulation standards.

All our houses are Code 4 as standard; and can be Code 5 with extra elements. We are currently working towards a Code 6 housing system that is both financially and ecologically sustainable.

Code 4 achieves 44% reduction of energy emissions, with Code 6 100% (a zero carbon house).

Our houses, at Code 4, also reach the required levels of:

  • Potable Water Consumption Reduction
  • Embodied Impacts of Construction Materials (the energy used in making and transporting them)
  • Household Waste Storage Space and Facilities/Lifetime House and Local Office Space
  • Construction Site Waste Management: huge reduction in site waste materials and consequent with neighbours

The basic components of the system substantially exceed the current Minimum U values and sound requirements; the system is more robust and solid than comparable standard Trada or British equivalents with 310mm walls and 290 mm roofs allowing higher levels of insulation. This means significantly lower running costs for household budgets.

Our details; heating (zero or low carbon), lighting options and sizes of standard units, all exceed comparable British standards.
